We collect information you provide directly to us, such as when you create an account, upload pattern files, or contact us for support.
Personal Information
- Email address (for account creation, security, and communication)
- Marketing preferences (if you opt-in to our newsletter), and, if you subscribe from your dashboard, a personal one-time bonus code and whether it has been used
- Username (for account identification)
- Payment and transaction information processed through Stripe and Link, such as payment status, transaction reference, amount, currency, tax amount, and customer country. We do not receive or store full card numbers
Pattern Files
- Pattern files (DXF and PDF) you upload for conversion
- Generated PDF files (temporarily stored for download)
Information from Google OAuth
If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive the following information from Google:
- Email address (used as your account identifier)
- Google account ID (used to securely link your Google account to your patternsplit account)
We do not collect your Google profile information, contacts, photos, or any other data beyond what is necessary for authentication.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and maintain our pattern conversion service
- To process your payments and manage your credits
- To send you our newsletter and offers, only if you subscribed (based on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time via the unsubscribe link or your profile)
- To reconcile payment, tax, refund, and dispute information received from Stripe and Link
- To authenticate your identity when you sign in with Google
- To link your Google account to your patternsplit account
- To communicate with you about your account and security
- To send you pattern tips, exclusive offers, and inspiration (only if you have opted in)
- To improve our services and develop new features
- To comply with legal obligations
3. Information Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We share information with trusted service providers who assist us in operating our website:
- Payment and merchant-of-record provider: Stripe and Link process payments, provide Managed Payments services, calculate and collect applicable taxes, issue payment documents, and support refunds and disputes
- Email Services: Providers used to send transactional notifications and marketing communications (for opted-in users)
- Authentication Provider: Google LLC for OAuth-based sign-in
- Bot Protection: Google reCAPTCHA for abuse prevention
- Analytics Providers: Privacy-focused tools to understand website usage without tracking personal identities
- To comply with legal requirements or protect our rights
Note: Our Google OAuth client configuration is shared with a related project operated by the same company (Forresten ODM). This sharing is limited to technical configuration (client ID and secret) only. No user data is shared between the two services.
4. Data Security
We implement appropriate security measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no internet transmission is completely secure.
Google OAuth authentication uses the industry-standard OAuth 2.0 protocol with state parameter validation to prevent authorization code injection attacks.
5. Data Retention
- Account information: Retained until you delete your account
- Google account ID: Retained until you disconnect Google OAuth or delete your account
- Uploaded files: Automatically deleted immediately after processing
- Generated PDFs: Automatically deleted after 2 days

You have the right to:
- Access your personal information
- Correct inaccurate information
- Delete your account and associated data
- Withdraw consent for data processing
